We’re always promoting the benefits of email marketing, but in the face of the bigger picture (the picture being global distress) GraphicMail has implemented its global presence and mass-communication expertise to aid the Haiti cause.
STIR IT 28 is a project launched by three major US food bloggers to unite an e-community of bloggers, restaurants, chefs and foodies to raise funds for the earthquake survivors of Haiti. Bren Herrera of Flanboyant Eats, Chrystal Baker of The Duo Dishes, and Courtney Nzeribe of Coco Cooks, the creators of STIR IT 28, launched the three-part fundraising initiative with all proceeds going to designated charity organizations Share Our Strength and YELE Haiti in aid of their projects in Haiti. STIR IT 28 (with “stir” referring to one of their beloved cooking actions being transformed to ‘stirring up interest’ and “28” referring to the number of days in February the project will be running) aim to raise $ 50,000 US in funds.
Realising the necessity of effective mass-communication in spreading the word about the project, Bren contacted GraphicMail to acquire a free GraphicMail Non-Profit Edition account in order to manage and enhance STIR IT 28’s communications. Our Non-Profit package is used by non-profit and community initiatives globally and includes a customized newsletter design, in addition to which GraphicMail are supplying STIR IT 28 with 50,000 sponsored send credits to assist their email-marketing and awareness campaign.
The primary focus of the campaign is an early dinner fundraiser that will be hosted at various venues across the US on Sunday 21st February. Restaurateurs, foodies, and chefs were asked to donate a few dishes to the event. 100 percent of ticket sales to each event will be donated to both charity organizations.
Aside from the dinner fundraiser, STIR IT 28 are also installing buttons on the affiliated blogs, enabling supporters to donate money directly through PayPal, for the duration of February. Food bloggers have also been called upon to participate by supporting Bren’s One Comment. One Eats.-Haiti. To contribute, bloggers have to donate one food item for every comment received on their designated February blog post, to Share Our Strength. In appreciation of their help they will receive an e-badge stating their involvement that can be proudly displayed on their blog.
For more information on how you can donate or get involved, email stirit28@gmail.com or contact Bren, Courtney or Chrystal via their respective blogs. Tickets to the STIR IT 28 dinners, to be hosted in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and Washington, D., can be purchased through PayPal by clicking on the STIR IT 28 logos at www.flanboyanteats.com or http://cococooks.blogspot.com.
